LEAD is super excited to give the ladies an opportunity to screen TOMBOY, a multi-platform documentary project that aims to elevate the conversation about gender in sports, told through the voices of many of the world’s most prominent female athletes, broadcasters, and sports executives.

In the last 40 years, the number of females participating in sports has nearly doubled, with two out of every five girls today choosing to play sports, according to the Women’s Sports Foundation. The documentary discusses reasons why some girls aren’t playing sports, as well as increases awareness and conversation about the participation of women in sports. The special one-hour documentary includes interviews with a longtime champion for gender equality and women’s tennis icon Billie Jean King, four-time World Cup champion Lindsey Vonn, Little League World Series pitching sensation Mo’ne Davis, Basketball Hall of Famer Ann Meyers-Drysdale, and many, many more.

LEAD ladies will screen the 47-minute film in the company of 10-12 different local collegiate and former collegiate athletes, and then we will spend the second portion of the workshop collectively discussing ways that they, too, can become part of the Title IX Movement and redefine what the term “TOMBOY” actually means in 2017. How exciting! PARENTS ARE WELCOME!
